Herbs work with your body’s systems to restore the blueprint.
Jessie Morris
certified herbalist
After years of experimentation with diet, herbs, supplements and fasting, my confidence has grown into what I believe is an ability to listen to others needs and find a solution with the myriad of information I have collected along the way.
Feeling broken and unable to be put back together can be a very discouraging human experience, as I can attest to - but through all of the struggles of chronic and recurring illness - little answers pop up here any there, bits of data to be compiled for the greater good of the individuals needs; therefore ultimately benefiting the whole by way of unique approaches for similar problems with different outcomes.
Herbalism is amazing in the way an herb can help your body remember the original plan. There are many amazing herbs that can help to alleviate symptoms, and treat acute issues - but ultimately, the goal of herbalism is to restore the blueprint.
Some of my favorite herbs from my garden are Yarrow, Calendula, Valerian, Plantain, Cleavers, Chickweed, Sweet Violet, Elecampane, Yellow Dock, Peppermint, Lemon Balm, Wild Bergamot, Thyme, Oregano, Rosemary and Hyssop.
I am very excited to share what I’ve learned with clients, as well as learn new things from others to pass along in the future.
Franklin
certified mini lop bunny
Rabbits are very special creatures, so wise and yet so quiet. Franklin has been one of my greatest teachesr. And it’s no surpriose, as in Native American medicine - the animals are guides to what and how to use herbal medicines. Sweet Everlasting is also known as Rabbit Tobacco, and in Native American Tradition is considered Rabbit Medicine, latin is Pseudognaphalium obtusifolium. Sweet Everlasting is a viral remedy often used in Southern Folk Medicine, as well as across the pond. It has been a go-to viral and upper respiratory remedy for centuries, and also used in the treatment of Asthma.
In Celtic tradition, the hare is seen in connection with the Otherworld and is considered magical. This might explain the traditional use of Rabbit Tobacco and Helichrysum - whom are related - during one’s end of life transition to the other realm.
After caring for Frankie these past 7 years, I have learned much from sharing the herbs in my garden with him, and seen them benefit him greatly. Bunnies have a very delicate GI system and also have many upper respiratory issues when they are breed for cuteness, and so herbal remedies benefit bunnies greatly and they know it! Which is, how we know it! Some of his favorites are Yarrow, Wild Violet, Creeping Charlie, Plantain, Oregano, Nettles and Linden.
